Nieuwe serie vertaalworkshops New Dutch Writing

21 juli 2020 - Evenementen

Vanwege de grote belangstelling voor de eerste serie vertaalworkshops organiseert New Dutch Writing dit najaar een nieuwe reeks van drie workshops Nederlands-Engels. Elke workshop duurt twee uur, wordt geleid door een ervaren vertaler Nederlands-Engels en focust op het vertalen van een literaire tekst van 1 à 2 pagina's. De workshops worden online gegeven en zijn gratis toegankelijk na aanmelding.

De tekst gaat verder in het Engels.

Details of the workshops are:

  • Sam Garrett fiction workshop on 8 September from 5-7pm (Dutch time)
  • Liz Waters non fiction workshop on 6 October from 5-7pm (Dutch time)
  • Nancy Forest-Flier fiction workshop on 3 November from 5-7pm (Dutch time)

Anyone with an interest in translation can take part in the workshop, whether you are a multilingual keen reader who has always wanted to have a go at literary translation, or a professional translator of any sort. All that is required is a sound knowledge of Dutch, native-speaker level English and a lot of enthusiasm! All workshops are free to participants.

Please email Rachel Toogood, Producer for New Dutch Writing at NewDutchWriting2020@gmail.com by Friday 31 July, with your details, a short paragraph about yourself and why you would like to take part in the workshop and whether you would prefer to take part in a fiction or non-fiction workshop.

The series of translation workshops is part of New Dutch Writing, a campaign funded and organised by the Dutch Foundation for Literature. For more information see https://www.newdutchwriting.co.uk
